Parc du Bon Pasteur, Evere’s one-of-a-kind green gem

We moved to Evere of Belgium four years ago. I believe we were very inspired to make this choice as we are greeted with a beautiful view on the Parc du Bon Pasteur, every day.

Evere is one of the 19th districts or “communes” of the Brussels-Capital Region, in Belgium. Outside Belgium, “Brussels” is perceived as a city, but in reality, is the Brussels-Capital Region, which groups the 19 communes. Brussels district is the heart of this region, a commune forming with the other 18 communes the Brussels-Capital Region.

This year, Evere, our commune, turns 900, a respectable age, for which every inhabitant is very proud of. In Evere one can easily spot past rural traces such as vegetable gardens, green large spaces, former farms and a windmill, which today is a touristic attraction.
