Postcards from Southern France: Marché aux fleurs in Nice

At two steps from the Promenade des anglais, there is a famous and old market place named “Marché aux fleurs” (Flowers’ market), in the old town of Nice. The place actually means more than flowers.

Six times a week, florists along with artisans from the region come here to sell flowers, vegetables, soap, herbs, lavender and related products.

While visiting the place one can also eat traditional food, which is served on the two sides of the street. There is fresh fish, bread, a large variety of cheese, to name just a few.
